Several species of birds of interest.
Southwest Pond, home to Tuckamore, is also home to several Bald Eagles, Loons and other birds of interest. Moose are plentiful and visit shores of the ponds almost daily. A quiet evening walk will take you past a beaver lodge or gentle river steady.

The gray seal is a predator for Atlantic salmon and cod.
They eat massive amounts of cod species each year. There must be a balance in nature, both for mammals and man. At present time, there is an imbalance in nature. Adults range in size from: 400 - 800 pounds.
Seal hunting is the oldest type of hunting in North America. It was done by the original peoples of our land before the arrival of the Vikings - and it has been a traditional way of life for the white man since he arrived on our shores over 500 years ago. The Newfoundland Seal Hunt has provided meat and clothing, heat and light in our homes for years.
